Acne in Adult Women
Adult Acne in women is the most common skin
disease for females of all
ages. Adult Acne in Females does not discriminate as it
affects women of all races, creeds and colors. As far
as adults are concerned, Adult acne is more common in
females than males. Women who suffered from acne as a
teenager are more likely to develop the condition as an
adult.
Pregnancy can cause a sudden onset of adult acne in women.
Also women who start or stop taking birth control pills may be
more likely to develop adult acne. Other factors which may
contribute to the onset of adult acne in women are stress
caused by everyday lives. This may explain why some women
develop acne as an adult even though they have never suffered
from the condition as a teen. The most common place
for acne to develop on women is on their face and their
chin.
Acne does not pose any serious health
issues, but the condition can be emotionally
damaging.
This simple cause of acne is that oil glands become hyper
active and they get clogged up. When the glands get clogged,
pimples form. Acne most commonly manifests itself in the form
of pimples, white heads and blackheads. . Blackheads can be
quite stubborn and can take longer to clear up than
whitehead. White heads usually go away rather
quickly..
Although many people believe that acne is caused by certain
foods that we eat, there is no scientific evidence to
back this up. Tests have shown that foods really do not cause
break outs.
Treating adult acne in women can take many forms. For
mild acne, most of the over the counter remedies work fine. A
doctor may be able to offer a stronger remedy for patients with
more stubborn acne.
Women should be careful about the make up they wear. Many
times, make up such as foundation may be the cause of break
outs. Be careful to thoroughly wash off make up every
night and be sure to wash your fice at least twice daily with a
mild cleanser. If you must wear make up, try to find
the types that are made for women with oily or acne prone
skin.
Also try to keep your hair out of your face. The oils in
your hair can clog pores and cause your skin to break out.
